well.....
i sold the e30 v10 last weekend. the new owner had been on to me for a year to sell it to him, and eventually i caved in, and he took it away last saturday.
so yesterday i trekked off to doncaster to collect this. i'm going to smoke about in it for a couple of weeks, and then bring the grinder back out of retirement :D 8)
and start putting a v10 and manual box into it.

A better home for an S85 V10 imo.

I've always wanted an S62 E46 ala Hartge H50.

Yes, I've seen that Andrew, but I think a garage/ outfit next door did the conversion for him ?

I think he went the pectel cosworth route, whereas I'll be using the original ecu.

Not sure who did the work, I think he did some of it?

Yes the ECU is a Pectel SQ6M but he didnt use FBW.

Are you going to have the ECU flashed and all the inputs deactivate as before?

Yes Andrew, as before, with a vent gauge from Awron, displaying the parameters via the Can

Did you have the car on the rollers to see what power it was producing with all the inputs programmed out?

No Andrew, I never got the chance,,,
But it was very fast !
Also the power and torque outputs are displayed on the gauge, as the values on the map are written and sent to the gauge via can

there's around 6 weeks ticket left on the car, so i'm going to put a fresh ticket on it over the next week or so, that way i'll be able to use it/ road test it as soon as i've finished the swap.
i'll probably use the car over the easter hols, then put the engine / gearbox up for sale
with a 'can be heard running' in the ad.

Might be worth checking the boot floor for cracks around the subframe mounts before you start ripping it apart.if it is cracked you may get it repaired by bmw under warranty.

Yes, reinforcing the floor was something I knew would have to be done, even if it looks ok.

I think there is a 10 year cut off for the BMW repair to the e46 M3 boot floor

bit of inspiration for you glenn, he's keeping the smg box so he decided to use the entire m6 loom, he had the car running. he will have to use the m6 rack aswell because of the electronic rack or something like that.
