Time for a new engine imy? Haha

To be honest I don't know. I suspect faulty injector. Both are on cylinder 1 but I suspect that is coincidental.

I have however got to the bottom of the camshaft bolt snapping. Rebuilt the engine and when I tried to time it up exhaust camshaft was locked solid. Traced it to a faulty vac pump (runs off cam) that has collapsed and locked solid!!!! Expensive break that was

My dad had a brand new Passat turbodiesel company car that managed around 14,000 miles without any sign of problems before it put a rod through the side of the block while he was going up a hill.

VW took the car back for examination and put a complete replacement new engine in.

Only certain engine codes on the 1.9PD have con rod issues.

If anyone wants a good M47N 150, there's one in the 'shop here.

The most common problem I've seen ( and been victim of ) is the Audi 2.0 td lump that was in my 57 reg A4 Special Edition - The famous oil pump issue. I still have the oil pump drive approx 5mm allen key that rounds off and also rounds the socket in the balance shaft assembly - This is what happens when Bloody Bean Counters are running the show and think they can save a tenner per car vs the thousands this costs us poor punters. Their loss though as I will never ever buy another Audi in my life.
