It is nasty.
The red M3 Compact was built for Auto Motor & Sport magazine, the only one they built. I went down into the basement in 2002 and there's all kinds of rare stuff - E12 520i's, very early E23's plus the V16 E32.

The only one in that dungeon that definitely should have made it to production is E31 M8 with the V12 S70/1 producing 550BHP. E34 M5 convertible is also interesting.
Never noticed before but does the X5 have P40B40?

Popular Myth Is the M8 gave it's engine to McClaren F1 which is code named S70/3. Although similar they aren't the same.
Another rumour is S50 head compoments are interchangeable with S70/3. Looking at the head on this V12 seems BMW just took the head off this and slapped it on M50 block

Just looked at a performance test for that M3 compact. 0-100 in 11.4. Wasn't slow!Andyboy wrote:It is nasty.
