328i won't start when warm

my 98 328i touring starts first time every time when it's cold but if i run it up to temperature then turn it off it won't start for at least half an hour,i'm guessing there's something electrical getting too warm, anyone got a clue?.

Check if there's power to the fuel pump as you try to start it. You can do this with a twelve volt bulb connected to a couple of bits of wire. Connect one wire to body earth, and, with most kinds of fuse, you should be able to touch the other wire against the fuse wire in the fuse.

i'll try that tomorrow but if there's no power to the fuel pump wouldn't it refuse to start when cold as well?.

Of course it would, but it depends why there's no power to the fuel pump. This is just the starting point to get some clue as to what type of fault you have.
