I apologies in advance if this I posted in the wrong area and for what I'm about to ask but...

I was wondering if anybody could give me any advice on what are the best bits that to break and sell on a e34 and the best place to do so. eBay looks like it's on the short side for parts so was also wondering if the parts do sell or is it a case of going with the long haul till people pop up.

I realise I might get my balls bruised for asking about this on a e30 forum (I do own a e30 btw :D) but I'd really appreciate the help if anybody on here has a better idea than myself !

Cheers people :D

Depends what E34 it is, a 518i or a 540i manual........

Mint condition bits are worth keeping, anything tatty isn't. Unworn wiper racks, mint front wings, really nice headlamps and tail lamps, instrument cluster, fuel pump, the UJ between the steering box anmd the column, the complete steering column with lock and keys if it's a non airbag car (kit car builders use them).
If it's an M50, take the sump and oil pick up off -a pain in the arse but worth £120. M50 2.5 - complete inlet manifold = £125. Don't bother keeping the engine unless it's really nice. 518i, 520i engines are worthless as are 530i's. A straight six 3.5 has a value if nice, 540i also.,

Need to know what year, what engine, manual or auto, what interior, what wheels.........

Yeah sorry I was a bit short on info I must admit..

It's a 1990 2.5 non vanos manual with leather interior. There are some rough panels, but there is also some really nice ones. Front wings especially. The engine is going in the e30 so I need all that stuff and will be keeping the UJs for the future. Gearbox wise I haven't decided but the rest is available.

Just trying to get an idea of what I can get rid of really. How about doors, bonnets and such. Anything to be made of them ? Also where's the best place of sale for such items.

Thanks for the advice so far btw :)

Oh.. and it has mint bbs.

Doors are only worth keeping if you have loads of room and patience. I wouldn't bother! Diff has no value. Bonnets are worthless. A black leather trim in nice condition is £100 worth, more if it's a Sport trim.

BUT: as a 1990 24v you may have the ultra rare Getrag 260 overdrive box used only for two months before the E36 type close ratio ZF box came in. What's the last seven digits of the VIN? (Pm me if you want).
