Story is my boss has an e39 thats been off the road for a year or so and has just out it back on, trouble was they key didn't work the alarm or start the car as the battery was flat so he split the key soldered a new battery on and it worked for a few weeks but now has stopped working again on the alarm but still works to start the car.
Problem is now the car alarm is going off constantly so he has removed the fuse for the siren but now the indicators are still flashing.
Any idea of how to sort it properly or how to remove the alarm so the car is useable again?
Any ideas or advise appreciated as its been unusable for a week now.
Disabling e39 alarms any ideas?

The alarm should cut off once the ignition is on?
If you lock the car with the key I dont think the alarm is activated

Correct Dan. Alarm is only activated with the remote.

At the minute the car can drive so ignition is on obviously but alarm still goes off but now with the siren fuse out just the indicators are flashing when driving.
Does it sound like the alarm is not talking to the key as such?
