This appeared this week so i had to take a cheeky picture.

Its not even covered 3000 miles, and i was lucky enough to get a drive of it.

Holy Moly. 8O **** me its fast. Any gear any time any speed. Plays the docile cruiser well and rides nicely when needed but there were two main things i thought

its f**kin huge, too big to thread about on normal roads i'd say. Made the e34 on the drive seem tiny. Its also hard to judge the size of it in some respects

theres so much torque the traction light was on constantly, even more than the old e34 bi turbo and she loved that yellow light flickering

Anyone else had a go? If i had the cash i'd plump for an M4 as thats perfectly big enough

They are absolutely huge. They only just squeeze between out ramps at work. Nor does the ramp like lifting them. They're a lot bigger than an A6 or and E class.

I've only driven an F10 M5 a short distance, they certainly move for a big car. It didn't feel fast at the time as I drove a 911 turbo 4WD before I drove that.

I don't find them too big, not even it's bigger bother the F01/2 7 series. Hustled a few of those down the lanes near me.

The M5 is epic though! Even that F10 550i (which the M5 is based on) i did block and pistons on which was more than 100 bhp/lbft down and saddled with an auto box was bloody rapid!

Ric's now rolling in an F10, all be it a lowley 520d M sport.

i was given a passenger ride in one around a year ago...and i agree...i thought it was mental fast.
i remember thinking as the driver was gunning it up a dual, this engine is too much for the e30 chassis.

a serious weapon

Would just be a monumental tyre shredder with all that low down torque in a light weight E30.

700bhp is not that hard to extract from one either.

Manhart racing out one of these engines into an E92 and tuned it to 700bhp. Mental!

Certainly a better chassis and more weight to stand a better chance of harnessing that power/torque.

Who's was the M5 Si?

Probably can't say, don't want anyone in trouble.

Its a tyre shredder in an F10 let alone fitting it into anything lighter

I had a go in F10 M5 in BMW Car Club visit to BMW Park Lane in 2013.
I hadn't driven it before but got to grips easily with DCT as works similar to SMGII in how to use it. Yes looks very big and is big. I had one of the park lane pr types in front passenger and old car club types with e34/e39 m5s. As I was only driving to Battersea in it there wasn't sufficient time for it to warm up. I just booted it down park Lane. Blipping it revving it even in traffic a tiny blip and blipping under bridges. The car club types were complaining I had too much fun! I am sure the BMW park Lane PR type wetted her self. The m5 sounded MUCH better than I expected. Really good actually. I didn't completely cane it as you got Central London traffic. Though from Pistonheads I found out they play the sound through the speakers. IMO only worth getting one if you got family ie wife and kids otherwise I think you cold have just as much fun if not more fun in New Porsche Boxster IMO

Actually the car club types who I passengered started to wonder and ask which car I had as I got to grips with using it easily. And it is easy to use.
