Well i bought an p reg E39 523 earlier. Headlights are misted up so the seals need replacing but i was wondering if the facelift headlight are just plug and play or are the plugs or wiring different. Anyone done it or got an idea. Might just swap for facelift if they are a straight swap
had so far e30, e34, e30, e39

I have the facelift anal eye lamps on mine, I think there may be some adaptor plugs, not 100% sure but they dont look out of place. I will get a pic later

Dans hit the nail.
They need adapter looms to convert the old loom to new. But I think it's only the side lights is it not Dan?

you need adapters to make the sidelights/halos work and also adapters for the indicators although the indicators can be done DIY if you get the bulb holders with the new light units and just wire them up to the exiting loom
you can get the adapters from ECP.............

You can also fit facelift rear lights but its not as straight forward you need to drill an extra hole or two for the locating pegs and some people claim you have to bend the metal a bit for perfect fitment. You also have to get them coded to the car so they don't cause errors
