Hi guys - hoping to buy one of these Monday. Can anyone from experience or knowledge tell me what I need to look out for and what future problems I could face in the future. The one I'm getting has 70k on the clock - ideally would've wanted one with less but what can you do. You can pick up E60's from about £5000 but the one I like is double that so I want it to be a gooden.

Thanks for the help in advance

Swirl flaps are known to fail, dpf issues, egr issues, apart from that they are pretty bulletproof, mine is a sport and at nearly 150k miles, is remapped and is quicker then my previous e46 m3.

Wow - what car have you got as in what is it for it to be so quick? Where did you get your car remapped? Also is there any check anything in particular for any of the above issues?

Just a remap makes them a very quick car. They produce over 450lbft after a remap. Swirl flaps can be deleted easily. Also dpf - assuming you have a friendly MOT tester.

My dad has an E60 with about 130k on the clock, hasn't had any issues in the 2 years of ownership. Also clutch is slipping now but it is a wear and year item.

I'm not sure who done the remap, as I purchased the car like it is, it's an auto, run back from Newcastle driving 70-80 with no heavy right foot, I got 50mpg.
