E36 I wouldn't really want to pay more than £1500, would have to be manual and would accept a lower spec, E36 parts are cheap as chips at the moment so would be fairly cheap to "spec" it up myself.
E39 I would pay up to 3k needs to be no higher than 140k give or take and would have to already be a high-spec model. I would consider a diesel engine and an auto box with the E39 but it would need to be in black or white
any advice on either or just general banter about either car would be much appreciated, I'm quite familer with E36's but E39's I dont really know much about apart from the fact there are quite a few lemons for sale and they can be costly to fix
