Evening all,
Got myself a 52 plate e39 530d touring to replace my R reg 528 saloon. If I am honest, the build quality on the new one is cack compared to the old one. Are they generally like this, or have I got myself a Friday car?

Ha ha!
I can honestly say, the 528 was one of the best cars I owned, 160k on the clock, never let me down, went well, all the trim still inside.
The new one is like a f&cking clown car, wood trim keeps popping off, rear wiper and tail glass stopped working, needs a thermostat now. But it does go well and is good on fuel

E39 tailgates fall apart for fun, either from rust, wiring or lifting struts/springs

My 02 is the same as both my earlier 523 and my 2000 530i. They are no e34 in the build quality stakes but theres a lot worse out there.
