Anyone ever wondered what a McLaren F1 has in common with the humble BMW M3 :-) ?

The VANOS units. Here is Jay Leno getting his units replaced by the McLaren technicians / engineers instead of getting them rebuilt.

In a very lose term, the f1 donk is 2 s50's welded together :D

As per other thread Pony next time you come to a meet have a look of all the pictures I took last time we had an F1 engine apart, VERY similar!
