Hi all, my first post.
Has anyone experienced a petrol smell ONLY when the passengers window is open?
No visible signs of a leak anywhere.
Also where is the expansion tank on these Compact 1999 316i.

Is the fuel filter not on that side, as with the E30 ?
Also, does it have a tank breather line and where does it terminate ?

Yes the fuel filter is on that side but I have checked that,no leaks.
Not sure where the breather terminates but as I say I do not know and can't see at the moment where the expansion tank is as I suspect a problem there.
