From the remote when unlocking the car everything works perfect apart from the boot does not unlock.I can unlock the boot with the key.Also on the dashboard the car symbol has illuminated showing two red number plate warning lights not working.

Do the number plate lamps work? If not remove the panel with them in and check for corrosion due to water ingress, the boot not opening may be down to broken wires in the boot hinge harness.
