328i compact temp and rev gauge not working

I've recently done an m52 swap into a w reg 316 ews3 to ews2 swap it runs perfectly, but I can't get the rev counter or temp gauge to work, most people say a pair of 6 cyl clocks will sort the rev counter but I've tried 2 sets with no luck but my biggest concern is the temp gauge, I don't wont to risk boiling her any help will be much appreciated
