A friend of mine is looking for touring and we stumbled accross this one on gumtree.

Seeing as I don't know anything about this age of BMW is there anything to look out for? Is the price about right (seems to be compared to the very few others I can find for sale).

Is the 325i in this age a good engine? It seems the 330i was the more popular choice of the petrol cars.

Any advice appreciated.

Looks like Rob may be selling his slightly earlier model, seems that he and Danthe have sorted it's issues...

Difficult to please all off the people all of the time...

My thoughts were that a 'sorted' car privately bought may be a better bet.

And the one you linked is somewhat closer to home,so much easier to view. All alloy engines on these new things, any history of overheating would get me worried.

Having spoken to the seller the car has a full BMW service history including oil, and inspection 1 and 2 services and he is the 3rd Owner.

We really need to go see it in the flesh and I suspect get an independant inspection as these BMW's are outwith my knowledge.

There does not seem to be many about, we could find a grand total of 5 in the scottish central belt for sale in this model.

I don't know if the donk in these is any different to what's in the E46, but if it is, then it is lacking in grunt and returns 20mpg around town and 30 on a run at a push doing a steady 80mph.
