I have been geeking up on the new 3 series.
There is not many reviews on the net but the new generation of dirty diesel mated to the new 8 speed box gets some really good press.
The new 330d is quicker and more efficient than the outgoing 335d.
Another thing I have noticed is that this new car is much the same in size/weight as my E39 530d.
258 bhp
0 to 60 5.6 sec
55 mpg
As an all rounder this is one hell of a car. I've sat in one and there a really nice place to be.
What does Barry think?

Serious car BUT anyone buying one on the strength of the claimed 55 mpg might be a bit disappointed......

As said on the F10 thread, knock 10 off the mpg figures for real world driving.
Lovely car though.

Would still be happy with 45mpg and those performance figures.

The 328i is the boy. They're really nice to drive and go so well and are very good on fuel. However, is the F30 really such a huge improvement over the last E90?

the outside certainly isn't, if your viewing from any angle bar the front dead on it can be a struggle to tell the difference i think.

Touring looks fantastic. It's taken me ages to "get" those headlights.

F30/F31 are stunning looking cars IMO - but they're massive ! I saw an F30 yesterday and thought it was a 5 Series !
I look forward to them being sub £5k in 10 Years time - just hope home diagnostics is affordable by then
