Help Help Help e46 bonnet cable snapped cant open it grrrrr

classic e30 trait but this time on an e46
snapped at the handle as always
have looked at several e46 sites and theyre all retards who strip half the car to fix it,no way am i doing that

so anyone got a nice simple way of doingthis ??? can it be done like an e30???

if your very carful remove the kidney grills and you can pull both sides of the cable from there .......

theres no little release hole like an e30 then??

What broke? The plastic handle or the cable itself?

looks like i'll be digging out the pliers till i can be bothered to change the cable
wish they had the hole in grille like an e30 would be far easier lol

The reason why thats snapped if because the cable is partially seized or the bonnet catches are. They are quite common for getting rusty and stuck.

I would be getting the problem sorted asap as using pliers will end up chewing the cable and then if there is nothing to grab it will make things a lot more awkward.

Not sure if its possible on an e46 but I once used a solderless nipple on a bonnet cable to put back into the release. That was on a corsa I was selling. They keep them in bike shops and are about 50p.
