E46 throttle linkage

Anyone ever attempted a modification on the E46 throttle linkage? Only fault i can find with her. Bought a 328i & she aint the smoothest in traffic. Heard its a common enough problem.
Why do a job properly, when you can do a half assed job in half the time

Replace the cable, they get stiff.
