Practical Classics magazine's price guide values these at £400 (Condition 3), £900 (Condition 2), £2400 (Condition 1).

The value depends on the amount of rust and whether it runs or not, and whatever else may be wrong, i.e., seized brake calipers, etc.

Worth a punt. Problem with these sort of things is it's hard to check the car over properly before. When you ask someone, and they say yes, then it's assumed you're buying the car whatever.

Does it have a sunroof or are they just mould lines? Do these suffer with the same rust issues as E30's mostly?

it had no sunroof, i would assume these would have similar rust issues as e30s, Surprised i didnt spot much visible rust, arches and front wings seemed ok...

That's rusting in all the 'usual' E28 places and a few other places!

Back in the day when these were just 'interesting old cars',the rot hotspots were the top of the inner wings and the front door hinge mounts. On that one,I see evidence of rot in those places plus that rear o/s wing looks tricky to repair.

May make a 'parts donor' if it has a leather/perfect cloth sport interior.Engine is the venerable M30 in 2.8ish size.

Yes it has.

Early 528iSE's had a limited slip diff as well. Opal green with pine green cloth - auto or manual? These were a lovely old bus and that may want saving if cheap enough.

The amount of condensation on the inside of that windscreen suggests it may be leaking alot, in which case, check the floorpans very carefully!

Well, in that case, I'd say that o/s/r quarter looks a bit suspect, and the amount of condensation most likely points to a water leak, but if you've got the time, effort and money, it's nothing that can't be fixed. But alas, most people only have two of those things, not all three.
