My mates got an E90 318i 07 plate. Took it to a Main dealer for an oil change now at 6000rpm the oil light comes on. Took it back to bmw they did the oil again and still doing it. Does that sound like the first signs oil pumped on it's way out ???

Could be a faulty switch, maybe worth putting and oil pressure tester on there.

Correct but has he used it to check the level? The oil level sensor is accurate.

It should be in other BMW chat and only a mod can move it.

Well if the oil pressure light is coming on at 6000 rpm and the oil level is correct then as maxfield says, an oil pressure check is needed.

I've had it before where the end of the oil filter has broken of, bringing on the oil light. Unscrew the oil filter and make sure it's intact.

That happens on Hengst filters that have been in there too long. This sounds more like an electrical fault - for an engine to have oil pressure at normal speeds but next to nothing at 6000 when the pump is going flat out doesn't make sense.
