M3 CSL definitely one of my dream road cars.
I cannot believe how many are now left!!!!
PS
I prefer this M3 CSL over a new M3 or a new M6 any day.
I think it looks great in Silver Grey.
M3 CSL Anyone seen this one very rare :-)

Had the pleasure once, a very nice car indeed. Saying that so is an E46!!! There's other cars I'd spend £50k on though...

I think u could with a little work make a regular E46 M3 as quick as a M3 CSL round the Nurgburgring ?
Better brakes, CSL steering rack, remove sound proofing, engine remap, free flowing exhaust, strip the rear seats, CA Airbox and u be quite close maybe even beat a M3 CSL with Michael Schumacher driving ....
For 50k u can get a E92 M3, M6, 911, Aston Martin, Ferrari all have the badge but u know a CSL is a CSL.
All the group tests all the road testers love the CSL over the newer Ms ....

They probably said the same thing about E30 M3 Sport Evos and "standard" M3s back in the early nineties - but you know which are getting the crazy sticker prices now.
edit: For £42k I'd want some decent bloody pictures on the advert! Did the dealer spit on the lens?

There is a post about it on the website CSL Register in the For sale section. I think people in the know there know the owner of this. Yes not many photographs. Though with this mileage and condition good for a collection. To drive better to have a higher mileage one.
By the way if a car has alot of previous owners is that a bad thing ?

Great cars. Although they were never a classic from day one.
I seem to remember them being 10k more than the standard model which meant they did not sell well at all so after time you could get a good discount on one. They were fairly unwanted so Im unsure how and when the premium shot up? They never drove anywhere as good as the gt3 porsche.

Yes M3 CSLs a lot of potential customers said they were interested but a lot were speculators and balked at the £60k asking price ....
Mainly I think because the 0 - 100km/h times and other acceleration times were only slightly faster than the regular M3
CSL got round the Nurburing in around 8 minutes significantly quicker than the regular M3 when all the little improvements added up ....
CSL is all about the engineering details, the driving experience, the handling and the noise
I think if they made a Manual Gearbox CSL the CSL Register people would prob prefer that though I have no problem with Manual Gearbox or SMGII.
I think M3 CSLs only started being appreciated for what they are in 2008 onwards ....
In Evo magazine the M3 Sport Evolution #1; M3 CSL #2 in the Greatest BMW M Road Cars of all time ....

Personally I'd prefer this...pony wrote:What would u choose over this ?suchy wrote:Had the pleasure once, a very nice car indeed. Saying that so is an E46!!! There's other cars I'd spend £50k on though...

And then if there was a bit of spare change, put it toward an E46 M3 for the speedy bits of life. I doubt there is anyone on here that is so heroic that they outdrive the M3's performance...
