You've got to ask yourself, why has it needed new rear springs and brake pipes - is it the infamous E46 rear subframe mount cracking issue that is the underlying fault?

nothing to do with the subframe mounts the rear springs and brake lines are extremely common faults on the e46,

Shame we can not compare the longevity / reliability of 15 year old Kias, there are none left :)

You would be surprised plenty of old kia's still knocking around we take the old shape prides in on a regular basis mainly against the new picanto, highest miles I’ve seen on one is 210k came in off its own steam not big rust patches etc

Build quality and reliability has never been a major problem with Kia they just looked terrible up until recent times

No doubt someone will make the comment that they still look awful today but even if Kia’s are not your cup of tea there is no denying they have come on a long way in a very short space of time.

Yes I sell them so I’m bound to have a biased view and although I would not buy one for myself that’s simply because I love BMW to much but I would quite happily and confidently sell one to my friends and family

If all you want is a car that works, then fine. But I'd still rather push an E46 than own a Kia. Even the name is shit and don't believe all the reliability hype either. I've seen a few Cee'd heaps on AA trucks and one actually broke down on the roundabout in Chesterfield, directly opposite the main dealer (Triangle Kia). The 7 year warranty isn't all that either - they don't seem to like paying for engine rebuilds on Picassoles when the crank pulley falls off.

All cars break down even bentleys as for the warrant not being all that it's still considered to be the best in the industry, only one that comes close is vauxhalls new life time warranty but that ends as soon as you sell the car, a Kia warranty stays with the car for the full 7 years regardless how many owners it has.

Kia's are not for everyone but more and more people are buying them now our most recent trade in's are a mini cooper s, a BMW 1 series, a land rover discovery and a jag x type which highlights how diverse our customers are.

Tbh I couldn't care less what people say about Kia's as long as they keep selling as well as they are and I'm earnng my commission that's all that matters to me :)

Indeed. Rather that buying a Golf and having resale value, they'll get hoodwinked by the 'warranty' which has more clauses than Santa's close family.
Kias, Hyundais and all the Jap stuff are just washing machines to me, just dull wallpaper - the Magnolia of cars. You may as well put a Hotpoint badge on it.
Anybody with half a brain would buy a 1 year old Kia and save themselves about 30%, but you should never underestimate the stupidity of the public.
As long as you're doing well by fleecing them, good on you!

Which public school did you attend, Andyboy? It has evidently instilled in you a very dim view of the British public you seem so fond of bashing at every opportunity!

Don't worry about the infamous subframe cracking on the e46, from experience its only the larger, torqier 6 cylinder engines that cause this, 325, 328 and 330.
