changing e39 525 auto to manual

i prefer to ask questions and confirm what i think or am not sure on, sorry if im doing anyone's head in lol...
someone has asked me to change a 525 auto to manual, ive prepared him a list of bits of the top of my head...

manual box
slave
master
pedal box
linkage and shifter
also advised a new clutch while we are there
and lines from master to slave

anything ive missed out?

the one bit that bothers me is the loom to auto, is it a case of unplugging this and leaving it tucked up safe or will wires have to be snipped out ect??

If your are sure it's a 525 then it will be a 2000 onward m54b25.

The EGS (trans ecu) communicates with the DME and DSC so if the EGS is just unplugged it will cause various problems and warning lights etc.

Sell it and buy a manual would be my advice. Not like e39's are expensive motors now

ah i see.... not my car lads. a mate has a chance to swap for his cupra but the car is an auto and he's not keen and wants it manual.

think i will leave it there then thanks lol
