I have one of the few remaining E36 Sport Touring’s but it really doesn’t feel very sporty with a auto box.

Is it much of a job to convert it to a manual? I know roughly what I need i.e new box, pedal set various fittings and fixtures.

Just wondering how much of a ball ache it would be and how many hours/days work it would be if anyone’s done it before??

I wouldn't bother mine is a manual with only 90k and still isn't sporty.

Love the way you make it sound like a rare classic... it's a green 1990s estate! Probably not worth the money you'd spend converting it to manual TBH... just swap it for a factory manual one.

It is quite rare tbh and no it's not a classic but it's got all the goodies and if I purchased another I would need to swap all the bits over which would be more long winded than just changing the box on this one

Gearbox, prop, gear lever assembly, clutch master and slave cylinders, associated pipe work, pedals and some sort of electronic wizardry to stop the car from thinking it's an auto. I'm going one at the moment along with an engine change for a local chap.
