There is a way a service advisor can recieve info on the car for u. It will only have the date it visited a dealership, the mileage and what dealership. You would then call the dealerships and ask what was carried out.
Had to do this the other week , customer bought in his e92 M3, just bought the car and wanted the history along with a healtg check. To his & my surprise, the car visited a dealer in january 2011 with 67k on the clock, the car sitting on my ramp was showing 34k! Oopsie its been clocked....
Try that, maybe better than £1 a min!

I use that system to check where cars have been along with any warranty repairs that a car may have had.
Most dealers i have had dealing with are reluctant to give out that info and usually direct joe public to the £1 a min number.

Assuming this line is 0870 5050 160?bss325i wrote:BMW customer services phone line @ £1 a min.
If so... Free number for it is 0800 777113
Local number is 01344 426565
But I have a feeling it might not be... Worth a try to get around £1 a minute

Was it an early E92 M3?
Did he not check the history before buying or get it at an auction or something?

Yep i ring the BMW UK number for information on service history/mileages/dates/where it has been/any warranty recalls/warranty etc etc etc then ring the Individual BMW Dealers for further information.bss325i wrote:I use that system to check where cars have been along with any warranty repairs that a car may have had.
Most dealers i have had dealing with are reluctant to give out that info and usually direct joe public to the £1 a min number.
However, i find the Individual BMW Dealers can be reluctant to give out further information other than dates/mileages/briefly what it had done i.e. they just mention one word eg oil service but i want to know everything been changed or bushes etc.
Some of the BMW people are a right pain in the arse who should be told to F*** off and work somewhere else if they dont like to help BMW Customers.
Does anyone else have this problem?

I was looking at a E46 coupe for the missus, I got the VIN number and rang the supplying dealer - Farringdons iirc, and they told me everything about the car from the PDI to it's last service, I cross referenced them details to the SH and it was spot on.
The seller was confused as how I knew the service history details before I even saw the car
They were happy to help.
