hi guys well i may sell my 328is just wondered if im asking a fair price wanted to see what you thought.

1998 R 328is avus blue , had avus pack and most extras half leather etc. 115k 98% of the service is bmw with me having owned for past 5 yrs between me and sis anyway. m3 contours painted in black, brand new H&R cup kit with only the 15 - 25mm drop i think cant remember just slightly lower than a std m3 not chav spec. , new balljoints , new arb bushes etc brakes and so on it does have a cpl of dents which it had when i bought it but drives like a dream and looks the part too would you all say £2000 ? is a fair price i may not sell it but just wana see if its worth it i know the car inside out its a good one.

any comments welcomed

The calypso one in particular looks lovely. These are so cheap now - a lot of car for the money

How do you find the 328i, i didnt rate the m3 variant.

I ran a 328i Coupe for over 2 Years as a daily - possibly the best car I've ever owned - fast, reliable, good looking, well built. It never went wrong and I didnt have to spend anthing on it other than MOT's, servicing and a set of disks and pads.

Still can't believe these are so cheap - I paid £6500 for mine in 2004 in mint condition, 62k on the clock, 1 owner and FBMWSH.

Seeing how cheap these are now I'm very tempted to get another one :D

Awesome cars.. Rocking a 328i Touring as a daily. Had a 328i 'loon previously also. Love 'em.

I'd say 2k was fair if it's as nice as it sounds. It's not mental mileage, plenty of history, nice spec, good colour etc.

As said great cars. I currently have a Coupe and a convertible and love both to bits. To be honest as said £2k is about right for a good well mentained one. I would keep my and drive it to te ground cause for £2k there is not much you can but to rival it. If i was to buy another car, i would go for the E46 330 Sport. Even better and now can be had for as little as £3.5k with slightly high mileage, but as long as it's been well looked after they are fine

That must have been quite a find especially considering they stopped producing 1999.

You bought in 2004.

What made you sell it?

Is there any reason to buy an E36 328i over an E46? I ask because I've seen both on sale recently for £2k-ish, am a bit tempted and, all other things being equal, would probably take the E46 just because it's a bit newer. (An E36 328i touring might hit the spot though...)

It was an early 328i being a '95 N Plate so was 9 Years old when I got it - I paid about the right money for it as the spec was good, it was the right colour, and it was low genuine mileage for a 9 Year old car.

It came with the E46 wheels fitted and the original cross spokes as a spare set - I preferred the E46 wheels so kept them on.

Also had Half leather sports trim, factory LSD, OBC and a premium OEM audio system

I still miss it.

Only sold it because I got a job with a company car - a fookin diesel astra  and I couldnt justify having it just sat in the garage.

To be honest a E46 for £2k woul be poverty spec with high miles and wont be a Sport. You can buy a sub 100k E36 Sport with the kit and some nice toys for £2k. If i was to buy a E46 Sport then i'd look to spend double that money. E36 parts are common and cheap as well and only takes a nice set of rims and a little drop to make them look nice too. My Coupe is moded like that, but my convertible has been chopped up with flared arched and mega wide rims lol

I've had the Coupe over 2 years and apart from servicing it has not cost me anything, so allowing for the fact that most cars would depreciate on average £1k a year, it has already paid for itself and owes me nothing now.

If you can hold out for a really nice E46 330Ci Coupe in Manual......it is a great car.

Would love one....but I drive 400 odd miles a week so neither that or an E36 328i would be all that sensible really....!

i think in general the 328is is a awsome daily driver except in snow lol ;) i drive mine as a daily driver and quite often give her a shoe ing on my private highway route to work lol
if i had a low budget i wouldnt be looking for a e46 at all tho the e36 328is would win everytime but if i had a bigger budget then a 330ci clubsport would be on the agenda! 8)

I'd always been a bit sceptical when it came to winter tyres, but they were brilliant. Where I live in the valleys it's nothing but hills, and never had a problem, I even started taking the back roads to work!

I bought Pirelli sottozeros. They had about 5mm left on all 4 tyres.

Didn't want to spend too much just in case they didn't actually work, but they were great.

I only seem to have this other pic, just before I set off..

Winter tyres make any car unstoppable. My works transit was great on them last year, only got stuck once and that was cos I mistakenly left the handbrake on while a custard was trying to push me out. :)
Even the four foot snowplough piles at the side of roads were no obstacle....I just launched the van into them to park and then reversed out no bother.

Bought a set of 15's for the E36 and a set of Kumho winters for this year. Can't wait for the snow now. :)
