i'm havin a nightmare trying to fit the spring on my new shocks on a m52 compact, how do you compress the spring enough to get the 22mm top mount nut on?.
i've got a set of spring clamps but wound to the max they still don't compress it enough, i even tryed ratchet straps.
is there something obvious i'm not doing?.

Hello mate,
Hope you've replaced that knocking wishbone too (I had to do mine the other day too!)
Are you sure you've got the bottom of the spring lined up in the strut right?
Pulled the piston out of the damper a bit?

Good luck mate!

Good luck mate!
this isn't for the silver beast, she who must be obeyed was so impressed with it she's bought one herself.
everything lines up as it should top and bottom but still about 10mm short.

they hook over the spring top and bottom, as far apart as possible without interfering with the spring cups, don't they?.Rav335uk wrote:How and where are you placing the spring compressors??
