Really hoping I can convince my missus into buying an e28, the variants with slippers look great going sideways from a standing start and I like the dash instrument setup also.

...and they look the business with a kit on.

If not I think I'll surprise her with a dirty6 328i with looming bodywork issues winkeye

I need one will last for one MOT only, then become economically not viable due to bodywork issues and I'll stick the lump in my track car.

I'm am a wee bit scared of letting an e28 into my life as I don't have enough time for the E30s I've got. I said that about a Sport then about a track slag though.... :o:

E28 is a fine car,but...

The steering is by box,not rack and pinion like E30,so they just do not drive/corner/handle quite as well!

But as a motorway cruiser, there is nothing better.

E28 Tupperware is not a good look , and if my memory serves me correctly, it wasn't too happening, even in 1986 ! :(

On a positive note, at least it isn't as grim as the E24 M tech kit

I don't know, the E28 front and rear bumpers are awful. At least the E24 is just a valance.

I'd much, much rather have E24 Mtech kits in stock than E28. They make very strong money - particularly abroad.

So do Simply Red CD's. But in the UK they're rightly regarded as tasteless shit.

The M535i bodykit is okay, whereas the M Technic 6 Series plastic nonsense is just abysmal - it makes an elegant Coupe look like a melted Dalek.

The skirts are horrendous. The front and rear valances aren't too bad. Front in particular is OK.

Do Simply Red CDs really make good money?

:teehee:

I like the M535i kit, in most cases it hides the rust perfectly just like the Mtech 2 ? :D

who would have thought mick hucknall was in demand abroad ?

I think it suits the e28 better than the e30 , but the top one looks really nice in that colour, shame you don't see it more often.

Have to go with the majority here. The e24 rear skirt looks truly hideous. An unkitted 6 is a pretty car.

With the M535is I like the kits. It takes me back to when they first came out and gave them purpose. I was almost disappointed when they anounced (and i saw) you could order an M5 un kitted :o:

However, a late chrome SE 28 also (very much) works for me.

How much will that silver auto be up for anyone know? :D

My mate is selling his silver '84 525i, it's unkitted but with an Alpina(-esque) valance and stripe. It's a really nice car and great to drive, I'd have it in a heartbeat if I had the money. It really wants an S38 fitted though :(.

Overall great looking car, but i am always worried about older cars due to rust (my 2dr E30 project is a prime example).

Get a tetanus jab perhaps? Or better use a pair of welding gloves, especially when you decide to get the mop round it, they are very good electrical insulators :D

A decent well treated drives E28 pretty well, yes perhaps a little dead around straight ahead, but nothing to worry about. At least it is not 40 zillion turns lock to lock as with the rack laden E30. I find with mine as you really press on it comes alive, and ultimately I prefer it to my sport (which was not a shabby old turd either). I track mine and it is a bit of a handful, but smiles for mile it's great.

I prefer them without the kit to be honest as it makes it look a bit bulky. Although I do like the front view. Basically it's down to personal preference :D

If prefer them with the kit tbh
But its diffferent tastes again , Bit like the m-tec kit on the e30
I also miss my old m535 , Missus always says .... You should never have got rid of it
Took us to north germany and back no problems , Also sar on the autobahn at 150mph with the aircon going
I prefered my e30 sport though , More nimble , She didnt like it , She said i drove like a hooligan in it :P
I would have another e28 as well if one came up i liked
Guy who bought mine wanted a mint clean unwelded shell as he wrapped his m5
Never seen or heard about it again , Heres one of mine , Not very clear ...
