e21 ignition lock barrel

Hi Guys.

Anyone know how to remove the ignition barrel of an e21.

There is a small slot present, but not sure if removal is similar to an e30. I have the original key.

Yes need to drop the column really, but there is a small hole in the back of the barrel you can stick a pin through which will release the tumbler

Thanks,OK, back of the barrel... i'll try that.
What position must the key be in before inserting the pin.
