Hi all. It's been a while since owning my last e30 and am now ready to give the Audi a good kick into touch and look for a BMW. I've decided to go for an E39 M5 on a 2000/01 and i was just wondering if anyone knows of any serious issues i should look out for, obviously as it's a BMW and an 'M' car i doubt there will be much.

Thanks
Chris

haha do some research on them- great cars aparently but veeeery costly to maintain. iirc anything without the BMW Warranty (or over 100k) is going to hurt your wallet deeply when things need replacing...
Greatly admired chariots though 8)

can these cars see off a:
E36 M3 Evolution Coupe?
E46 M3 Coupe?

E39 M5s are still just about available though BMW Dealers AUC though presumably not for long if you are serious about a really good one.
