Superb - these are a great old bus.

There was a Daytona violet one on Egay but it was up in Cumbria and he'd set his buyer preferences to eliminate non Paypal losers like me.

Sold for £338.

tbh I have found the e34's to be rust free or only very minor, top build quality on those lumps imho

Side skirts going back on tomorrow finally. Sills and inner, outer wings coated in wax. E34's rust badly where they fitted with side skirts and never cleaned out. Luckily mine only required minor localized welding, but I've seen E34's where massive sections of the sill and bottom of the inner wing crumble away.

I take it the brown stuff is wax not rust? :D

I have also found more to be rust free and ive weighed in plenty of E34 breakers.
I took the skirts off my touring a year or two ago and its all mint, loads of mud but solid, same as the rest of the floor/front end.
Best way to keep them rust free is to keep them oily/waxed up underneath.

Hows the bootlid? Common rust area

Its usually in the seam under the lip, just chip the scabs off and soak in some waxoil, it wont get any worse that way

You talk about rot under body kits, barry pulled the skirts off the 92 535 sport breaker on sat

I'd say the best part of the rear 6 inches of the offside sill would need cutting out. I hope he has photos. Yet the sills on my old 93 525 se are still mint. I still see a lot of the car despite having sold it in 2003. No kit see!

My B10 needed welding to the sills by the jacking points and that had no kit from new.

Retarded tyre fitters firing a trolley jack under the sill is what did it.

Not sure what its like in the city. About Late 20's. Mid 30's on the run.

M50's are economical if you drive sensibly.
