Got an email from a mate earlier that read:
"Driving up to London Friday, and suddenly found no throttle response from the foot pedal. Fortunately I was on cruise, so car could still be driven safely. Once stopped I found the foot pedal had broken away from the floor and fallen over. I have managed to refix with gaffer tape to get the car home, but a close look seems to suggest the pedal is integral with the complete throttle box ( it's a fly by wire). Any suggestions ? I have looked on the BMW5 forum, but searches don't bring up anything. "
