Is it a hard job? Any specail tools?

Anyone got one for sale?

Any advice at all?

Thanks in advance :D

What do you want to know? It's not a difficult job. Only two bolts securing the rack to the sub frame as far as I can remember. Separate the ball joints on the tie rod ends from the hub assembly and separate from the steering column.

Tip would be to soak all nuts/bolts you need to undo in penetrating oil the day before you aim to remove them. Otherwise, it's pretty straight forward and self explanatory once you're underneath the car and looking at it all

Cheers buddy.

I bought a ps rack of a 325 coupe today and I am hoping to put it on a 316 compact, can anyone say for sure if its compatable?

If not it may end up on my trackcar (e30 2.7). I'm sure it has advantages over the e30 one...Less turns lock to lock iirc????????

It will be a quicker rack than the e30 one. The only thing you might find is that you have to modify the route of the feed / return pipes slightly. Nothing too major.

To fit the compact you mean?

The e30 is only really an after thought if it doesn't fit the compact!
