Looks nice but what about the mileage? Too good to be true?

apparently owned by various members of two families, loads of history too. My E30 had 84K on it with mint seat bolsters thoughRanchero wrote:Looks nice but what about the mileage? Too good to be true?

Yes, it looks like to be in a lovely original condition but:rh306 wrote:![]()
Smallest engine
Auto box <---major failing especially with the small engine
Dubious colour
Poor spec - not even a rev counter!

I'm a lazy (auto box), London dwelling (average traffic speed 6mph), poverty spec loving (my last E30 didn't have a radio) freak though so all those negs come up as plusses for me, might make resale a bit iffy though you're rightGeorge wrote:Yes, it looks like to be in a lovely original condition but:rh306 wrote:![]()

You spotted what I spotted. I would not expect that kind of seat wear with that kind of mileagerh306 wrote:apparently owned by various members of two families, loads of history too. TBH, E21's were really bad for seat wear, something that was addressed with the E30.

I'm also lazy (325i auto) and London dwelling but I genuinely believe an auto on that car will spoil it - no power, poor economy. Imvho, you need at last 2 litres for an auto.rh306 wrote:I'm a lazy (auto box), London dwelling (average traffic speed 6mph), poverty spec loving (my last E30 didn't have a radio) freak though so all those negs come up as plusses for me, might make resale a bit iffy though you're rightGeorge wrote:Yes, it looks like to be in a lovely original condition but:rh306 wrote:![]()

Have a manual box on it, and a boggo 316 makes sense.
