E36 window reseting

I know this is not e30 related but I'm sure someone will be able to help
Can someone tell me how to reset the auto wind up/down function on the e36. Got an e36 that's had the battery disconnected the windows don't wind up or down when you hold the button I think it may need resetting as is does with some car s[/i]

From memory you press the window switch down and keep it pressed down for about 20 seconds after its finished?
