firstly i prob shouldnt post this here as its an e34 tech issue but im desperate for a quick solution as its about to ruin my plans this weekend.
the cars a 89 535i sport and its been blowing fuse 23 (fuel pump) all week consistantly. its originaly a 7.5 fuse which would blow straight away so changed to a 10 amp as a temporary solution-same result, i then changed to a 15amp and have been getting away with it a bit better but now the car just wont fire up atall, it cranks fine but wont fire up. I fear i may have fried a dying fuel pump by bumping the amps up, any ideas? The cars also an automatic and the last week well on downshifting the revs have been dropping right down to 400rpm then rising back up when it changes down which causes it to lerch forward more than it should on the revs when say approaching an island. Any ideas whats going on with it?
my fuel pump fuse keeps blowing!please help!
