Just wondering whether this is a common thing or not. Just wondering whether it's just a general E46 build quality thing as i've seen a few normal E46s with rusty wings now as well.
A mate bought bought a really nice E46 M3 last summer after looking at a lot of cars, yet the front wings have just started rusting.
Had it checked out by a local bodyshop i know well and there's no sign of any previous repair or paintwork to suggest anything has been bodged.
Also anyone got anyidea what the going rate is for a deent pair of E46 front wings is?

Very common on E46 coupes when they reach around 8+ years of age, not so common on the saloons. Its absolutely vital to regularly remove the plastic arch liners on these, give the wing a good clean around the lip and use waxoyl or similar to protect them.
First time I've heard of it on a M3 though. No idea why but they always seem to be a lot more rust resistant than run of the mill E46 coupes.
