bmw e46 heater blower help

Just bought a e46 318i saloon when i put the heater fan on the air blowing out goes up an down up to when i put the level half way best way to solve this problem an is it easy to get fixed

is it set to auto if not it is probably going to be the heater blower resistor or more commonly known in dealers as the hedgehog
