BMW e46 cd player help

Any one know if a BMW business cd players plays mp3 cd s the one I have is a cassette one but if I get a after Market one I cant use the cd changer an the controls on the steering wheel any one have any idea cheers imy

I'm pretty sure they dont play MP3 file discs.
You can get ipod interfaces for the BMW head units but you loose the CD changer function.
With some aftermarket head unit, interface modules are available for the steering wheel controls.
