Ive changed the locks on my E30, obviously an easy job, but I now need to do the same on an E36 coupe. Its a '98 316i with key operated central locking. Can I just change the locks, or do I also need to change the ecu & ews to match the new key?

just change the chip in the key.

E36 door locks are a cnut to change.
