just had a bit of bad news regarding my x5 (2001) and now require an engine. ive been offered a rear end shunt R plate 740 for pennies.
i know they are both 4.4 m62 engines but my question is.......

is it a straight forward swap with the x5 being 4x4 and all??

any help on this would be great.

try the short engine part numbers on the etk, if there the same thats a good sign.

as long as the box fits then the only thing to worry about is the accessory drive brackets and the engine loom.

but as iv never done it dont take my word for that.
