Hi there, was driving my e34 to work earlier sailing along quite nicely, when all of a sudden, then engine revs dropped and and the engine actually died, it was only becuase I still had forward momentum did the car rollstart itself and I was able to pull inot a local petrol station. I drove away and it was rough for a few hundred metres, I switched the old girl off. Started it up after a minute or so, revved it up and it was fine. As I drove home again it was fine, all the way until I was home when as I came to pull up to my house it started struggling, as if starved of petrol, but theres enough in there.
Its a manual m20b25. Ideas people?

Sounds like a loose electrical connection, affecting either ignition coil or the ECU. I'd check the engine earth strap and main ignition feed to the ECU and coil, then the DME relay and go from there.

That's the one that feeds the ignition-switched live +12V to the ECU. The "System (main) relay" in this pic:

It is located under the large rectangular plastic cover on the driver's side, adjacent to the bulkhead.

i would check the cam sensor and the crank sensor as those symptoms sound the same as mine and that was what it was
