I have an 83 E21 316 in silver. It's the 1766cc motor like I was running on bike carbs in my 316 E30. I'm trying to decide what to do with it. It needs a bit of bodywork and some attention to the seats etc. but I was thinking of.....
1) 1766 with big valve 121 head and either twin 40 weber/dellorto or bike carbs and four into one headers again.
2) M30/20/50 engine swap. or iS with a blower.
3) stripped with single bucket, poly carb windows like my old Spongebob car
4) Cosy interior from E30 Sport in cloth or leather with emphasis on comfort. Paint the top half in black....gloss or satin.
I do have quite a few bits left over from my last M10 motor and still have some interior parts from various cars.
E21 suggestions please

I thought the E12 head had bigger valves than the 121? My brother's '02 makes 168BHP from a 2 litre m10 so it may be worth looking for an '02 engine. His spec isn't too mental either:
292 cam, tii pistons, schrick 292 cam and oversive valves, ported head with cut down valve guides. Twin solex 40 PHH side draughts on a matched manifold and ported cast exhaust manifold into a stainless custom system. With 8" intake trumpets it sounds phenomenal at full chat.
