A mate of mine has been offered a very cheap E46 Compact 325i and is thinking of stripping and using as a track car.

He's no stranger to track days having had several Imprezzas and a DC2 Integra but this has just come along at the right time and price.

Does anyone have any experience of these on track?

The intention will be to eventually fit the E46 M3 lump.

i have heard they are very very well planted, with an m3 lump would be an animal!

I had an 02 plate 316ti compact for about 6 months, gutless as hell but really planted and predictable handling
