Won't hold my breath, but someone here might have come across a similar issue!

Basically I need a new compressor(/clutch) for the aircon on my E36 but it's a dealer fit 'Diavia' system. Any ideas on my chances of making an OEM BMW compressor work with the Diavia system? I'd imagine a new Diavia compressor would be a fortune if I could find one, but second hand BMW ones are 10 a penny...

I know the drive belts are the same, but how much of a nightmare will the pipework / electrics be?

Ta for any ideas! :)

hi,i have an e34 with this system on it.my compressor clutch was knackered. i found that the clutch on a vectra 1.8 around s reg was very similar.the electro magnet fitted perfectly, the pulley was identical except it was for a multi vee belt.i swopped the bearing to my old pulley.the end plate with the springs fitted as well.its still working ok

You don't have any pics do you?! Guess I might find mine's the same again... One like this ( http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0426591014 ) by any chance? Was the clutch available new or did you just find a second hand compressor at a scrappies?

Seems a bit much to ask, but is it possible to change the clutch without even depressurising the system?
