i brought my e36 m3 evo coupe last week, the insurance wasnt going too be too bad but i went and got a quote with all the goodies it has:schrick race cams, part and polished head, superchipped and de-limited,strut brace etc..now the insurance has rocketed i could of said it was standard but then im fooked if i crashed it or got crashed into so i want to declare it modified.any of you guys had this problem who did you go with.i think me being 26 isnt helping either especially with 0 no claims bonus

I think if I was 26 again, I would of enquired how much the insurance would of been in the likely event I was going to purchase one

The 0 no claims at 26 is not going to help either, I'd be trying with fingers crossed.

ha yeah nice try guys.the thing is i travelled all the way from cambridge to bath to buy this thinking it was standard, the trader i bought it off knew nothing about these cars and never said it was modified in anyway so when i got up there and was looking at the past reciepts i stumbled across one for 4.5k from a local tuning company along with a dyno print of 347.1 bhp.i was excited and already had forked out £300 on petty/trailor/van etc to bring it back.so with this in mind i bought it thinking it wouldnt be much difference and it is.the only reason i have 0 no claims is that i have never owned a car for longer than a few months as i get bored easy and have only been driving for 3 years too mainly due to being a lazy stoner.i might sit it up in the garage till i can afford it or i could just sell it and buy a mint sport which i could afford to insure, gonna have to weigh it all up over the next few days and then decide.bloody insurance

Have you tried Performance Direct? They insured my modified car with 0 no claims (recent test pass, not a bad girl) with no problem.

Have used both Adrian Flux and Performance direct.

Both have been excellent in my experience.
