Came out of my e28.



It was connected to a small pipe.

part of the climate control system. i have one the same in the panel above the pedals in my e30.

i assume the small pipe is connected to the inlet manifold to pull air over the sensor inside for a better reading

Right ok. Didnt know i had climate control. Or is it for the obc reading? as mines reading -30.

Nah - the external temp sensor for the obc is down in the front passenger wing. You need a new one for about a tenner and it'll warm up in there in no time!
