Its possible by some indication know what engine is in the car despite the decals or VIN number by visual inspection. The 325is (2.5 lt. ) and 325e (2.7 lt) have some physical characteristic that can identifiable one each other???

Thanks a lot Blitz, in normal condition is an excellent reference and I am sorry for insist; but suppose the engine block is from 325e and the head installed is from 325is with the 325i manifold.
How I can identified by any characteristic (any visual) if is 2.5 or 2.7

Blitz the manifold is from 325is for sure thank to your photo. But the engine block is my doubt. The comented combinationis is; a 325e block and use a 325i head, cam valves springs etc. intakue manifold including the computer control of 325i or is.
By this combination you can develops extraaaa horse power and more torque (2.7 block) with less friction in the crank shaft due to the less supporting bearing (3 less) instead of 7 supporting bearing in the 325i block crank shaft increasing friction but expand durability.
