My Mum's '00 330i Touring Auto/tiptronic has just lost reverse gear. Put it into reverse and there's nothing. You can rev the engine and there's no movement.

Anyone know where we could get a replacement? I've been quoted £1500 for a re-con unit + labour to get it sorted.

Help!

Help indeed and I feel sorry for ya.
The autobox has had a few problems engaging reverse. A friend of mine in a 530i went through two in a couple of years.
There is a fix but expensive about £2k he paid to get it sorted.
Try quarry motors or fab direct for a box. They may not be the cheapest breakers but they are very reputable and stuff will come with a warrenty
good luck

Just found one on eBay for £400 with only 50k on it.

Might save us a few pennies. It's never driven hard as it's my Mums car.

Yeah, heard it's a known problem with the 3-litre boxes...
